What does tea mean to me?

Lapsang Old Fashioned

One of our favourite tea cocktails, the smokiness of the Lapsang Souchong adds an extra level of body to an already delicious cocktail. We highly recommend using a well balanced Lapsang Souchong (of course we recommend ours!) as many can be flavoured with an artificial smoke taste, or can be overly smokey which overpowers the whiskey. LE GUIDE D'INITIATION AU THÉ VERT

Il existe de nombreuses variétés de thé, toutes avec un goût et un arôme qui leur sont propres. Il est peut-être surprenant que le thé blanc, vert, oolong, noir et pu-erh soient tous produits à partir des feuilles de la même plante, le Camellia sinensis.


Les différences de goût et de saveur sont influencées non seulement par les conditions climatiques et le type de sol, mais aussi par les processus auxquels les feuilles sont soumises après leur récolte. Le principal processus qui influence la saveur est l'oxydation. En général, moins un thé est oxydé, plus son goût sera doux.

Matcha Zinger Tea Cocktail

Matcha Zinger tea cocktail

 

Makes 1 cocktail.

This tea cocktail utilises the versatility of matcha to balance with the freshness of mint and the sharpness of lime. A very refreshing cocktail that works perfectly for brunch.

You'll need

  • 50ml Gin
  • Juice of half a lime
  • Half a teaspoon of Organic Matcha
  • 100ml water
  • 7.5ml Agave syrup
  • Ice
  • 1 sprig mint

How to make

  1. In a cocktail shaker muddle the matcha, mint, lime juice and agave syrup. Be sure to leave a couple of mint leaves for a garnish.
  2. Add the gin and water and dry shake (without ice).
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is cold.
  4. Strain into a short glass over ice.
  5. Garnish with the remaining mint leaves.
